I am currently working at a print marketing agency in Sydney. I take a lot of pride in my work even if it means I work a little bit more than I should. It has provided me with some awesome oppurtunities to learn and so I am grabbing this oppurtunity by the balls and learning as much as I can. I consider myself very fortunate to work with some really intelligent professionals who have been very successful. I am taking the chance just to absorb and learn as much information as I can.
The best part about my work is that it really is something new everyday. While I may be printing all day somedays I could similarly be using my very limited programming knowledge to try and solve some niche problem with our QNAP server. I love that, my brain needs a chance to try something new everyday. I also struggle with low pressure environments. I cannot find motivation internally for work that doesn't feel pressured. I completed all my university assignments the day they were due. My work life is no different. I want to be challanged and pushed to squeeze as much into as little time as possible and to do it efficently and accurately. Recently I have stepped up taking comms from my direct manger. The idea is that freeing him up to do more top line work I can record the sales and revenue I am invovled with.
My fiance and I are building a soap brand. "Route 66" is a keylime pie inspired hand and body soap. Over the past two years Anna and I have been taking perfume classes in a local Atelier. Joce our teacher is intelligent and insane as only perfumers can be. Her knowledge of chemisty and botanicals would place her firmly as a druid or witch in another lifetime. She passionatly shared this art with Anna and I and we are finally ready to bring our own product to market. The design work is complete and I am running the printing through the print marketing agency I work for. The plan is to ship out a small batch to people close to myself for feedback and sell at local markets
I am working on pitching to small businesses. As a part of my small business automation business I realised there are some tasks that are best suited to a human. Little did I realise that there is a huge market of virtual assistants. Small businesses benefit from this agency as it reduces the hiring time, we also help with the development of standard operating procedures. This helps them train employees quicker in house but also helps us offer more virtual assitants as they can be trained much quicker.
I picked up Red Rising by Pierce Brown recently and he is a master as the "what happens next" in story telling. I absoltely devoured his first book within a couple days. I am now on Golden Son and it is quite a different vibe from the first book but I still love how easy it is to rip through the pages
This website is constantly under development, it is an ongoing project. Similar to my vision board. I have taken a little break as I was developing myself and working to making more time for myself. I have reached a point where I am ready to come back to my writing and speak about these last two years. I will be posting more to my blog and catching up writing reviews for all the books I have read over the past year.
